History of Velvin Oil

We began as Sinclair Oil Company in 1964, serving East Texas as a petroleum wholesale distributor. In 1980, Edgar G. Velvin renamed the company Atlantic Richfield Company.

What started as a four man operation–two drivers, two bobtails and a pickup–grew to seven bobtails, nine transport vehicles and a team of over 20.  We had four tanks and a tiny warehouse, and now we serve companies all over Texas and parts of Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

We have been family owned and operated for more than 50 years.  Our operators President David Velvin and Vice-President Jim Jordan have been in this business for over 35 years, putting their know-how and integrity to work for you.

Other companies have come and gone but we have endured, serving East Texas and the entire United States for six decades. Our name has changed, but our product and our commitment to our customers has stayed the same.
